By popular vote of June 5, 2016, the Geneva residents refused by a majority of 51.8% an amendment to the Law on demolitions, transformations and renovations of dwellings (LDTR) allowing long-standing tenants to acquire their apartment. The present Newsletter aims at presenting the context of such vote as well as the restrictions imposed by the LDTR in matter of sale of rental apartments located in the Canton of Geneva.
